I’m Your Host, Renae
Renae M. Dupuis, M.Div (she/her), is the Founder and Chief Enculturation Officer of TraumaWise. She is an influential advocate and educator dedicated to trauma-informed care. With over a decade of experience in caring for trauma-impacted youth, Renae has emerged as a prominent figure in trauma healing and resilience-building.
Renae’s profound dedication to equipping individuals, organizations, and communities with trauma-informed practices has garnered recognition and respect in the field. Her involvement in creating trauma-informed spaces and places through TraumaWise showcases her commitment to empowering individuals to navigate their healing journey with compassion and resilience.
Alison Levine, Holy Spirit Breath Coach, guiding women into deeper connection with God through the breath of life—restoring peace, clarity, and purpose through Spirit-led practices. As a certified somatics instructor with a trauma-informed approach, she integrates biblical truth and God-centered restoration to help women, especially mothers, move from surviving to thriving.
After a traumatic 42-hour birth with her first daughter that led to an unexpected C-section, followed by postpartum depression, she experienced firsthand the need for deep healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This journey led her to discover the transformative power of God’s love, and it now fuels her mission to help women reclaim their health, peace, and purpose.
Through faith-based coaching and Spirit-empowered transformation, she helps women reconnect with their divine identity, unlock their God-given gifts, and walk boldly in the life they were created for.
Anna Hornbostel LMFT 129309, and TBRI Practitioner has a private practice in Orange County, CA providing connection rich, attachment focused, trauma informed care for individuals, couples and families experiencing unexpected twists and turns on their life's journeys. Prior to becoming a licensed therapist in 2021 Anna was a teacher with experience with toddlers through third grade.
Anna holds a M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, is a graduate of the Training in Adoption Competency from the Center for Adoption Support and Education (CASE) and holds a certification in Reproductive Grief Care from the Institute for Reproductive Grief Care in San Diego, CA as well as numerous other trainings in grief and somatic, trauma informed methodologies. Married since 2004, Anna and her husband resolved childless after a difficult journey with male factor infertility that began in 2009 and dote on their shih tzus Pippin, Glinda and Finnigan.
Courtney Carlson is a dynamic teacher, author, and Christian speaker with a heart for emotional healing and self-discovery. Drawing from years of personal growth and spiritual insight, Courtney equips audiences to break free from the lie that they’re not enough and empowers them to reclaim their voice and purpose. With authenticity, compassion, and bold truth, she connects deeply with those who feel unseen or stuck—offering hope, healing, and practical tools for transformation.
Based in Colorado and a mother of three, Courtney also brings creativity and depth through her love of art and travel. Her mission is to help people step fully into who they were created to be and build lives they truly love.
After spending the last decade teaching and working on program design in a variety of school, church, and community program settings, targeted towards including children and adults of all abilities, Emily Remsen has now turned her career towards partnering with families, educators, and churches to create supportive environments, filled with individualized resources, as an IEP advocate, educational therapist in private practice, and ministry inclusion consultant.
Emily is passionate about building inclusive communities, where individuals of all abilities can thrive. With a background in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Liberal Studies (education) through a bachelors, masters, and credential program at the University of Redlands, she’s dedicated her career to helping families navigate the educational system and advocate for the unique needs of their children. She joyfully brings tools from a variety of training experiences, ranging from Orton-Gillingham and SPELL-Talk to Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI Practitioner) and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE Qualified Educator).
Dr. Margery Arnold is a Counseling Psychologist who is interested in prevention and early intervention of mental illness.
She is passionate about all the things humans can do for and with each other to bring healing and compassion to those of us with mental illness. She works to prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to improve the health of body, mind, spirit, and community.
She currently volunteers to help parishes start and sustain mental health ministries and serves on the founding board of the Association of Catholic Mental Health Ministers, CatholicMHM.org, as well as the Advisory Board of TraumaWise.
Nicole is a graduate student at Tarleton State University and a Crisis Interventionist at MHMR of Tarrant County, in Fort Worth, Texas. Nicole is passionate about integrating theology and psychology, equipping the church to be more trauma-informed, and serving children and families with mental and behavioral health.
Nicole will be graduating with a master's degree in Child Development and Family Studies in December of 2025. Nicole aspires to be a Child and Family Psychologist, researching how churches can become more trauma-informed and educating families on child development.
Sadie Dodson, holds a Master’s of Science degree in Psychology and began her career in marriage and family therapy. After serving overseas with her family, Sadie returned to the U.S. and stepped into the world of foster care and adoption, where God ignited a deep passion in her for trauma-informed care. Her work with children and families from hard places led her to become a trusted advocate and safe presence for individuals across marginalized communities.
Today, Sadie is a Spiritual Relationship Coach who equips those impacted by trauma to heal, grow, and thrive—while also consulting and supporting the allies who walk alongside them. With a heart rooted in faith and a trauma-informed lens, she creates sacred spaces for restoration and connection.
Sharon M. Wegman, MA, NCP, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor with nearly three decades of experience in the mental health field and over 36 years of ministry involvement.
At traumainformedministry.com, she equips faith-based leaders with the tools and insight to offer spiritual and emotional care, especially to those recovering from trauma. Sharon believes the church can be the safest place on earth when it chooses to see, understand, and honor the reality of people's pain.
Dr. Vanessa R. Brooks is a leadership strategist, pastoral counselor, and the creator of the R3 Framework — a neuroscience-informed model designed to help leaders Reset, Rewire, and Reclaim their God-given capacity to lead well. With a doctorate in Executive Leadership and a background in human services, Dr. Brooks bridges brain science, trauma-informed care, and spiritual leadership to address burnout, decision fatigue, and emotional depletion.
She is the founder of WellnessCare360, a consulting firm dedicated to helping mission-driven organizations and ministries build resilient, soul-centered leadership cultures. A former faith leader and national speaker, Dr. Brooks is passionate about equipping leaders to steward both their calling and their nervous system. Her work challenges the idea that burnout is normal — and affirms that sustainable leadership is not just possible, but sacred.
As President of For The Children, Wendy McMahan mobilizes the local Church to serve children who have experienced relational trauma. Through Royal Family KIDS Camp and Mentoring, churches create life-changing moments for children in 43 U.S. states and 9 countries.
Wendy has over 20 years of experience serving vulnerable children. In the United States, she has led child welfare programs along a full continuum of care, including child abuse prevention, foster care, family reunification, and adoption. Previously, she facilitated church partnerships for the benefit of vulnerable children and families in developing countries. She holds a M.S. from Texas A&M University and is a Practitioner of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). Wendy brings a passion for life change and a love for the Church. She and her husband Tim were foster parents for nine years and are the parents of three daughters.
